AirPods are great Bluetooth headphones, and they can easily connect to non-Apple products such as Androids.
However, when AirPods connect to Androids, the volume can sometimes sound very low.
Luckily, there is a way to fix this issue and enjoy the great quality of AirPods no matter what device you are connected to.
In order to make AirPods louder on an Android, open the settings app and adjust the equalizer settings. Customizing the equalizer settings can make different aspects of the audio, such as the bass, louder. Another way to increase the volume is to disable the Absolute Volume setting in settings.
Below are some of the best things that you can do to increase the volume when using AirPods with an Android.
Increasing Airpods Volume On Android Devices
The best way to increase the volume when an Android device is connected to AirPods is to adjust the equalizer. Go into the Settings, then click on Sound and Notification. Next, click on Audio Effects at the top of the screen.
Make sure the Audio Effects is on. Once it is on, push the Equalizer drop-down menu. You can play around with the different settings on the Equalizer settings. You can increase the bass, audio, and more through this setting.
If you want even more customization than is offered in the settings, you can download an equalizer app. If your audio is extremely faint, downloading an app is a great option. An equalizer app gives you more customization power than your Android Settings app.
An app will typically let you change the intensity levels of certain sonic frequencies in the audio emanating from your speakers or headphones. This is the best solution if your sound is imbalanced, and you want to amp up certain frequencies.
Use a volume booster app. This is similar to an Equalizer app, but it is easier to use and has fewer customization options. To turn up your volume, simply go to the Effects tab on the volume booster app, switch the Loudness Enhancer to on, and move the slider to the right until you are satisfied.
Be sure to read reviews for whatever volume app you decide to download. Some are very helpful, but others have ads and spam that will slow your phone down.
There are also simpler solutions to fix the low volume.
- Before doing anything drastic, close all open audio-playing apps on your phone. Some apps that play audio or video have their own app-specific volume settings, which can alter the volume of your system while running in the background.
This is a simple fix that could increase your volume and speed up your phone’s performance.
Do All AirPods Work with Android?
All AirPods do work with Android smartphones and tablets. AirPods are simply Bluetooth headphones so they work with any device that can connect to Bluetooth.
Although Airpods are compatible with Android, they are made primarily for Apple devices. Because of this, Andriod users miss out on some tools and features that are only available to those who connect their AirPods to Apple devices.
If you are using AirPods while connected to an Android device, you will have no control over Siri. You cannot use Siri for skipping songs, increasing volume, or asking questions. You cannot access Google Assistant while using AirPods, either.
There is essentially no voice assistant available to Android users with AirPods.
When using Apple devices, AirPods detect when you have removed them from your ear.
If the AirPods has sensed that you have removed it, it will pause your music and then play it once you place the earbud back in your ear. This feature is not available for Android users. You will have to manually pause and unpause your music.
If you find your AirPods are randomly pausing be sure to check out this article.
Another interesting AirPods feature is the custom double-tap settings.
On an iPhone, you can change what tapping on an AirPods twice does. You can create shortcuts such as skipping songs, summoning Siri, and pausing/playing music. On Android devices, the double-tap feature is not customizable. However, you can still double-tap on your AirPods to pause and play your music.
Which AirPods Are The Loudest?
All AirPods are known for their great sound quality and intuitive features. As Apple releases more versions and generations of AirPods, some seem to have better sound quality than others. The newest release from Apple is the AirPod Pro.
Reviews tend to agree that the AirPods Pros are the loudest of the AirPods and have the best sound quality. High notes (1100Hz and above) sound twice as loud with the AirPods Pro compared to the AirPods.
This treble emphasis makes it easier to hear harmonic resonances, so our brains perceive the music as louder and extremely clear.
Airpods Pro is now available, I have written a comprehensive guide to help you decide if you should choose AirPods or AirPods Pro. There are various pros and cons to both.
This guide will help you decide if AirPods Pro is worth it for your circumstances and needs.
AirPods Volume Settings On An Android
In order to get the best sound from your Android phone speaker, it is important to understand the volume settings on your phone.
Once you understand the volume settings you can easily connect to Bluetooth, customize volume, and listen with better sound resolution.
Customizing your volume starts with opening the Settings App. Then, click on Sound or Sound Notification. This category may also be labeled as Sounds and Vibration depending on what type of Android you have. Once you have clicked on that category, you can adjust the sliders to set the volume.
There are different sliders for certain various noise sources. The media volume slider controls the noise level for movies, music, and other entertainment audios. There is also an alarm volume slider.
This sets the noise level for the Clock app’s alarm. The ring volume slider sets the phone ringtone volume. This category includes incoming calls and notifications.
These sliders give you basic control over your phone’s volume. If you want more specific control, you can click on these categories themselves and it will lead you to more specific options that allow for more customization.
